Ransomware file recovery is a delicate process that requires knowledge, experience, and expertise, otherwise, one can end up with permanently corrupted data that’s impossible to restore.
Ransomware actors promise to provide that key if the victims pay a ransom. However, even if they do, there’s no guarantee that the key will ever be sent to them, or that it will match their ID, or that the provided decryptor will work reliably to restore their files.
MonsterCloud assesses the infection type and performs ransomware recovery using one of many methods available in our arsenal. This may include decryptors for that ransomware strain, retrieving the private key from the infected machines, restoring the system to a previous state, and other private methods.
If direct ransomware file recovery is impossible or highly time-consuming, we restore data from backups ensuring that the system will be as close to its last state as possible. The backups are re-certified by MonsterCloud to ensure they’re not infected. Additionally, we take precautions to ensure that the malware has been eradicated so existing or future backups aren’t jeopardized by a subsequent infection.
